Cath Deans

Cath HeadshotCatherine Deans studied Psychology to degree level and subsequently trained as a hypnotherapist and stress management consultant, a vocation that she has continued for twenty years. During this time she became aware of how unresolved difficulties of childhood can contribute hugely to anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties in adulthood. From her work with children and families it became clear that there existed a common lack of understanding about the mind and the dynamics of conflict.

With a view to finding an accessible way of bringing more understanding and skills to children, Cath trained to be a primary school teacher. Whilst teaching, Cath thought hard about what could support children in their emotional development in a way that didn’t require going to see a therapist and that could be delivered by those with no specialist skills, the result is The Snouffles stories, a book of six stories and follow up activities that as well as being an excellent tool for skilled therapists to use, also serves to teach both children and the adults who support them, how to find confidence and inner peace.
